Earlier today I joined a lively protest with over 100 other migrant workers to call on the Tanaiste to rethink changes to the work permit system planned to take effect from Monday.

These changes will do nothing to create jobs for Irish workers – but they will increase exploitation, reduce tax revenues and devastate the lives of many hard-working migrants who have made Ireland their home.

You can be assured that I will continue to oppose this measure, just as I have opposed other attacks on migrant worker rights over many years.
