2010 SARI Soccerfest in Dublin

Patrick Maphoso  registered a South African Team in the 2010 SARI Tournament.It was the first time that  South Africans participates in the Soccerfest in Ireland.Ghana won the Tournament again.We are looking forward to the next one in 2011.

Show Racism the Red Card

Patrick Maphoso and Gareth Mullen conducted Show Racism The Red Card Workshops in schools   in Cavan(Meath).

African Cup Of Nations(Ireland) 2010

The African Cup of Nations Ireland is Co-ordinated by SARI and ASSA.The Congolese boys won the prestigous Trophy.The tournament encourages youths to participate in Sports.

World Refugee Day(Fair play Cup)

World Refugee Day was celebrated with the event featuring 8 football Teams involving Refugee,Community groups,government agencies and the Media.They played for the fairplay Football Cup which will be an annual event.(SARI)Sports Against Racism Ireland and ASSA(African Schools Sports Aid)co-ordinated the Tournament

Empty promises Book Launch

Empty Promises(Book) was launched by Niall Crowley(former Equality Authority Chief Executive).Niall resigned after the Equality budget was cut by Half.Patrick Maphoso was invited as a guest speaker along with Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma   Costello.

Right to Work Campaign

The right to work campaign brings together trade unionists, community
activists and the unemployed to say: bail out jobs and services not banks
We won't let this government divide us between public sector and private
sector workers, migrant and non-migrant. We want solidarity - not divide and
rule tactics.
This is a Campaign of resistance and solidarity and we want to hear your
suggestions for how to step up our campaign

Meeting the Minister of Integration

18   May 2010 – Patrick   Maphoso  and other migrant led organisations  met the Minister of Integration   Mrs Mary White to discuss issues affecting immigrants such as:

1. Race Crimes / Legislation covering this.
- There is a lack of decisive action regarding race crimes
- No specific means of documenting crimes
- Need to highlight issues regarding incitement to hatred
2. Unequal Representation of immigrants
This is evident in different sectors like
- State Boards
- The Senate
- Department of Integration, among many other areas
3. Need to speeden up the decision making process at the Dept of Justice in
relation to
- Asylum cases
- Naturalisation cases
